A-Bank Implements the SCROOGE Core Banking Platform

Lime Systems has completed a large-scale implementation project at A-Bank, delivering an integrated suite of software solutions that includes the SCROOGE Core Banking Platform, the WebBank universal front office, the Scrooge Card System with the Card Transaction Service financial authorization module, and the iTiny internet banking system for corporate customers. The full solution entered production in June 2019.

The SCROOGE platform replaced the bank’s in-house core banking system, providing centralized processing of high transaction volumes, automating operational and accounting processes, and establishing a scalable platform for expanding existing banking services and introducing new products.

As part of the project, key business areas—including the general ledger, corporate and retail deposits and loans, treasury operations, foreign exchange control, tax accounting, and other banking processes—were migrated to the SCROOGE platform. The implementation also included a large-scale migration of data from numerous legacy systems.

One of the project’s distinctive aspects was the need to preserve the extensive custom functionality that A-Bank had developed over many years within its previous core banking system. Part of this functionality was incorporated into SCROOGE, while selected proprietary applications remained in operation. To ensure seamless interoperability, Lime Systems developed a comprehensive integration layer featuring more than 180 integration points between SCROOGE and the bank’s existing systems. This functionality was implemented using the company’s WebPlatform integration solution.

Following the implementation, the platform supports more than 2,500 bank employees and manages over 7 million customer accounts. At the time of the project, the bank was serving more than 1.6 million customers daily, processing over 200,000 card transactions and approximately 1.2 million documents every day.
