Scrooge Platform Supports Ukraine’s Transition to the IBAN Standard

Lime Systems completed the implementation of International Bank Account Number (IBAN) support across the Scrooge core banking platform, its integrated subsystems, and the integration layer connecting external financial services.
The project ensured that financial institutions using the platform were prepared for Ukraine’s nationwide transition to the IBAN standard, which entered large-scale production on 13 January 2020.
In addition to supporting the new account structure throughout the platform, the implementation included compatibility with Ukraine’s electronic payment infrastructure, interbank settlement systems, and financial monitoring processes.
The adoption of IBAN in accordance with the ISO 13616 standard represented an important step in aligning Ukraine’s payment infrastructure with European banking practices. For financial institutions, the transition introduced a standardized account format that simplifies payment processing, improves interoperability, and supports cross-border financial operations.
By incorporating IBAN support across its banking platform, Lime Systems enabled partner banks to meet the new regulatory requirements while maintaining continuity of day-to-day banking operations during the migration.
